jessica drake Receives Free Speech Coalition's Positive Image Award

LOS ANGELES, Calif.—Wicked Pictures has announced that Wicked Girl jessica drake has received the Free Speech Coalition’s 2012 Positive Image Award. Each year, the Free Speech Coalition (FSC) honors outstanding achievements by individuals and organizations within adult entertainment. For 2012, Ms. drake shares this distinction with veteran actor, activist and director Steven St. Croix, the co-star of her current Wicked release Crazy In Love.

“I am humbled and honored,” said drake. “The general public’s opinion of our industry and the people within it is something I try to change every day. But I’m not the only one. There are many very strong women in the adult business today, and I share this recognition with each and every one of them. My sincerest thanks to the Free Speech Coalition and, as always, my Wicked Pictures family.”

In a prepared statement, the FSC said the Positive Image Award recipients were determined by their efforts to “dispel myths and misconceptions about the adult entertainment industry through advocacy, public awareness programs and community service.”

For drake, such outreach has been accomplished in part by sponsoring and speaking at the forward-thinking sexuality expo, CatalystCon, continuing her sexual wellness series and participating in yearly fundraising events like AIDS Walk Los Angeles. Other projects include lobbying with the FSC in Sacramento, appearing in a viral PSA urging Californians to vote “No” on Measure B, organizing yearly food drives, doing volunteer work around the world to help the less fortunate and much more.

“jessica does an amazing job representing both Wicked Pictures and the industry as a whole,” commented Wicked Pictures president and owner Steve Orenstein. “She changes ‘stereotypical’ views about adult stars and the business everywhere she goes and with everyone she comes in contact with. She has always been an amazing ambassador and I’m glad to see her being acknowledged for it.”

The FSC Awards will be celebrated November 8 at a special reception during the annual FSC Summit, which will take place at the Sofitel Hotel, 8555 Beverly Boulevard in Los Angeles.
