Rodney Moore Has the Music In Him

CHATSWORTH, Calif.—When award-winning veteran adult director and performer Rodney Moore isn’t behind or in front of the camera, one place you’re likely to find him is making music under the name David Perry (not to be confused with the European porn star of the same name).

His music and videos are quite prolific—his rendition of Bill Withers’ “Use Me” is one of his best and the video is edgy and highly creative. Rodney plays all his own instruments and sings, which you can see in the video.

Another recent song and video is his version of “Dear Prudence” by the Beatles. It’s one of his favorite Beatles tunes and a more upbeat adaptation that even has the jet plane in the opening. It can be seen here.

His most recent song with accompanying video is Frankie Avalon’s “Venus.” The stripped-down version has ben described as magical and has a retro feel to it. And, it features his sidekick, the Woolfie Katt, making a cameo at the end. It can be seen here.

“Making music is a labor of love to me,” said Moore. “I have done all kinds of music."

Back in the early '80s, Moore produced two disco hits by an artist named Salazar. He also produced an album by Meredith Brooks (famous for her song "I'm a Bitch"), in addition to working with jazz great Kenny G and rapper Sir Mix-A-Lot. In 1985, he wrote, arranged and produced a charity record in the same vein as "We are the World" called "Give Just a Little," which featured local celebrities performing to raise money for the local food banks.

"I hope everyone enjoys listening to my music and watching the videos as much as I enjoyed making them,” Moore said.
