Brad Armstrong Revs Up to Start Shooting on 'Speed'

LOS ANGELES—After his triumph in the sci-fi genre with the Wicked Pictures epic 2040, which picked up awards from AVN, XRCO and XBIZ, Brad Armstrong is revving up his directorial skills to tackle an action epic titled Speed. The big-budget action adventure, set in the fast and furious world of motorcycle club culture, will begin principal photography on locations in and around Los Angeles on June 1.

Like such turbocharged Hollywood releases as Torque and Biker Boyz, SPEED promises to be a non-stop thrill ride. In addition to showcasing jessica drake, Kaylani Lei, Kirsten Price and Alektra Blue in leading roles, the movie boasts a cast of more than 14 major characters, plus an additional 17 A-list players.

Armstrong is excited about the challenges of blending action, drama and sex. The filmmaker describes his latest mega-production as an ensemble piece focusing on the rivalry between four different L.A. bike clubs, each headed by one of the Wicked Girls. The film also will feature more than a hundred bike club extras at various gatherings and events chronicled in the story, including rallies, bike races, and exciting stunt riding featuring real L.A. bike club members eager to participate in the production.

In addition to a fast-paced screenplay and breathtaking action sequences, this high-octane epic will showcase no fewer than 12 pavement-pounding sex scenes.

On the technical front, Speed will deliver the expected fuel-injected thrills and spills as well as a provocative new element: 3D. In a company first, Armstrong will create a special bonus feature that immerses the viewer into an exciting three-dimensional racing experience.

Taken as a whole, these intriguing elements are sure to make Speed one of the most electrifying super-productions yet from the talented creator of such AVN Award winners as Coming Home, Manhunters, Fallen and 2040.
