TAMPA, Fla.—Porn veteran Mariah Milano has reached 100,000 followers on Twitter.
"I am very proud to reach this goal," Milano said. "I have seen others get there and I know the power that it gives you for marketing to just post 140 characters and it is instantly in front of a hundred thousand people. But I am most proud of the fact that I didn't cheat to do it and I know that I have 100,000 people who intentionally chose to see what is up in my life, and to me that's very flattering.
"I do get a lot of appearance and event hosting work through Twitter and when people see that you have a lot of followers they know you can bring added value to their projects."
After 14 years of shooting sex scenes, Milano is focusing on life after porn.
"I am not the most famous porn star in the world and I would never want to be; that is for someone else," she said. "I am writing my book and a new column in a food magazine and starting a new site called DinnerWithAPornstar.com where I'll be making some really exotic and interesting meals. It's going to be a free blog site and I will be welcoming other adult stars to contribute if they enjoy cooking also. My passion these days is enjoying life and great food and wine and experiencing new cultures. I have become a total foodie too."
Milano currently is in the final round of the Miss Freeones contest, which is special because she won Best Official Website last year.
"I won the category for Best Official Website last year, which was a huge honor for me since it's 100 percent fan votes that decide it," she said. "I don't expect to win because they got rid of that category this year and I'm not nearly as active with shooting like some of the other girls and I don't spend a lot of time posting on the forum so it's just awesome to still be competing like this after all these years. I just enjoy traveling and spending my time working on my sites and keeping my members happy."
