SAN FRANCISCO—NakedSword has hired Zach Sire as the editor for gay porn and lifestyle blog The Sword. Sire will serve as editor-in-chief and as manager of all social media platforms related to TheSword.com. He also will assist in the production of original video content as part of The Sword’s planned expanded coverage of industry events and on-location shoots.
Previously, Sire served as online editor of Unzipped.net. During his time there, he helped increase traffic and brought mainstream attention to the site by breaking stories about national public figures. Among his crowning achievements at Unzipped.net was coverage of the George Rekers-Rentboy scandal that occurred in May. Before that, Sire served as associate editor of Unzipped, Men and Freshmen magazines, where he developed relationships with gay adult performers and industry peers.
A NakedSword spokesman said Sire is perhaps best known for his acerbic wit, blogging style and eye for relevant editorial content that drives traffic while entertaining smart, loyal readers on a daily basis.
