Adam Film World Guide has announced its awards for the best titles and performances of 2006. "It was a really good year for features and gonzos," said AFWG's Editor-in-Chief Anthony Petkovich. "The gonzos got more in-your-face and the features had more of an edge to them—or a lot of edge in the case of Corruption."
Along with being named Best Movie, SexZ Pictures' Corruption took honors for Best Director (Eli Cross) and Best Screenplay (Eli Cross & Alvin Edwards); while Corruption starlet Hillary Scott received the nod for Female Performer of the Year. "Hillary fit the bill in many respects," noted Petkovich. "She has the look and the attitude, and she's really nasty. She's also proving to be a good actress."
Wicked Pictures won Best Epic for its Brad Armstrong directed feature Curse Eternal, while the studio's contract girl Carmen Hart triumphed as Contract Starlet of the Year. Wicked also took honors for Best HD DVD for Camp Cuddly Pines Power Tool Massacre and Best Special Effects for Michael Raven's The Visitors.
The magazine named Sasha Grey Teen Dream of the Year; while Milf sensation Lisa Ann nabbed Best Comeback. "She's a hot milf. And, now, she's doing anal, which was a long time coming—like 10 years!" noted Petkovich. "She's got a curvy body and knows how to use it. Get her oiled up and she looks even better."
Jules Jordan Video claimed Best New Porn Company and saw its newest director Erik Everhard win Male Performer of the Year. "Jules hit the ground running," said Petkovich. "They're doing a lot of great stuff. With Mike John and Erik Everhard they're going to continue to get better and better."
AFWG added new categories this year, including Best Foreign Fetish (Tanya Hyde's Orgazm Addictz). "Obviously, Europeans are really good with fetish," noted Petkovich. "We see more European titles competing with American titles. We're kind of piggybacking on their kinkiness."
Industry pioneers John Stagliano, Patrick Collins, and Bruce Seven were honored with the magazine's Lifetime Achievement Award.
"Our writers had a hard time boiling down all of the winners," said Petkovich, "It's gonna be tougher next year because there are so many performers we've already noticed this year. Each year keeps getting better and better and the bar keeps getting raised."
