Zero Tolerance Prepares to Release 'Shades of Scarlet 2'

CHATSWORTH, Calif.—AVN Hall of Fame director Mike Quasar has carved out a comfortable niche for himself steadily cranking out quality all-sex movies each month for Zero Tolerance Entertainment and its sister imprints Third Degree Films and Diabolic Video Productions. But every now and then, he gets the chance to truly spread his wings with a full-scale feature, as he did with last year's multiple AVN Award-nominated BDSM romance Shades of Scarlet.

Now, Quasar is hoping to re-create the level of buzz Scarlet generated, including the Editor's Choice review it garnered from AVN, with its big-budget sequel, due out from Zero Tolerance next Tuesday, September 29.

Shades of Scarlet 2: Higher Power finds A-list star Kendra Lust portraying a reporter investigating the suicide of the mysterious author at the center of volume one. Karlie Montana, Tommy Pistol and Derrick Pierce all return from the original, and are joined this time around by Marcus London, Euro-starlet Jasmine Jae and skyrocketing up-and-comer Abella Danger.

As Lust digs deeper into the world about which her subject wrote, she becomes entrenched in it herself, first observing as Pistol dominates Danger, then diving in fully as the willing sub to Pierce. Finally, she comes face-to-face with Montana, who passes the torch to her as the new Scarlet by way of a furious lesbian lovemaking session.

"I'm excited that I was given the opportunity to write part two of this story," Quasar remarked. "I shoot a lot of porn throughout the year, but this is my one pet project that I really obsess over. I'm ecstatic with the results. Everyone brought their best to the set and it shows, and I thank them all very much."
