Yale's 'Great Porn Debate' To Air On 'Nightline'

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Yale University has a reputation for producing some of America's intellectual elite. But according to a report in the Yale Daily News, if the students who attended "The Great Porn Debate" are any indication, Yalies are just as slack-jawed as anybody else when it comes to porn.

According to the Daily News, 600 students attended the Sex Week at Yale debate Friday night. The event's moderator was Martin Bashir and the panelists included adult-movie star Ron Jeremy, XXXChurch.com "pastor" Craig Gross, former producer turned anti-porn crusader Donny Pauling and Vivid Girl Monique Alexander. The event was captured by ABC News' "Nightline."

According to the Daily News, the debate never reached any actual conclusion and the audience seemed more intent on seeing a freak show than an actual debate, but a splendid time was had by all.

The arguments presented by the panel were nothing new, Gross and Pauling stated that pornography was a societal ill that degrades women, leads to unrealistic expectations and can be addictive. Jeremy and Alexander argued that porn can help relationships and trotted out the free speech aphorisms.

The debate will air in a 20-minute segment Friday night at 11:35 on ABC's "Nightline." The full debate will be available for viewing on ABCNews.com on Thursday.
