Vivid Entertainment is kicking off 2007 in a big way, with five major new releases and 25 hot catalog titles on sale in January.
On Wednesday, the studio ships The Female Gardener, a Chuck Lords feature starring 2003 Penthouse Pet of the Year Sunny Leone. The movie’s supporting cast includes Mikayla, Hillary Scott, Daisy Marie, April Blossom, Jaclyn Case, Naomi, Derrick Pierce and Marcus Leon.
“Sunny Leone’s stuff does unbelievably well, and we’re expecting The Female Gardener to ship big numbers,” said Vivid’s national sales manager Howard Levine. “The fans love her. Virtual Vivid Girl Sunny Leone is one of the biggest-selling virtual titles to date; we’re looking at about 15,000 units since July, which is a lot of sales in a short amount of time. It’s up for virtual title of the year at the AVN Awards, and in my opinion, it should win.”
Jan. 17 sees the release of Bryan Xin’s Rough Draft, starring AVN Crossover Star of the Year nominee Savanna Samson as a porn screenwriter. Sandra Romain, Roxy DeVille, Tia Tanaka, Faith, Christian, Jerry and Pascal St. James round out the cast.
Billed as “the ultimate mash-up of underground art and documentary porn,” East Side Story streets Jan. 23 through the Vivid Alt label. Rebecca Linares, Dana DeArmond, Michelle Aston, Page Morgan, Lexi Bardot and Roxy DeVille star in the movie, which features performers telling real-life stories and having sex “as part of a series of art installations.” Directed by Vena Virago, the movie will be issued in a three-disc set that includes a CD soundtrack.
At the end of the month, Vivid rolls out two highly-anticipated productions: Paul Thomas’ big-budget feature Sex and Violins and Tristan Taormino’s Chemistry 2.
Thomas’ movie chronicles “one Friday night at the nightclub of broken dreams,” with an all-star cast led by 2007 Best New Starlet nominee Stefani Morgan, Monique Alexander and Penny Flame. The Super 16mm feature boasts four anal scenes, including Flame’s first b/b/g backdoor performance.
Chemistry 2 is another exercise in “reality porn,” with a group of seven performers sequestered for 36 hours in an unscripted sexual free-for-all. This time, the group includes Kimberly Kane, Christian, Nat Turnher, Luscious Lopez, Lexi Bardot, Kaiya Lynn and Mark Wood.
Vivid’s back-catalog will receive a major boost this month with the addition of 25 hit titles starring fan favorites such as Sunrise Adams, Chloe Jones, Tawny Roberts, Mercedez, Dasha, Brianna Banks, Devon, Cassidy, Kira Kener, and many more.
