Countless women have come and gone through the ever-revolving door of porndom, but few have left an impression on the level of Vanessa del Rio. The shapely Latin minx spent 11 years in the industry, from ’75-’86, creating an indelible canon of work that caused jaws and drawers to drop in equal number.
Now the Grand Dame of Fuck is joining forces with superb, AVN and Emmy Award-winning director Joe Gallant to mount, among other things, a comeback film. The DVD signals the long awaited return of del Rio, and will be a New York-shot epic detailing key incidents in the star’s incendiary career.
“It’ll basically be flashbacks from her life,” Gallant offered. “Things like hooking in Times Square, and giving guys blowjobs in cabs, and she ended up fucking this midget in the subway once. Crazy, cool, kinky Vanessa shit from even before she was a porn star.”
Of course, the big question is, what exactly will the lady be doing in the movie?
“Her involvement is quite extensive,” Gallant said. “She’ll be narrating every scenario, she’ll be doing some solo erotic aspects with toys, and she’ll have some erotic involvement with some of the performers. That’s extent of what we’ve discussed so far. It’s all about her, her walking through Times Square, for example, and her remembering something from a certain corner, then we cut back to that.”
Black Mirror, Gallant’s production company, is embarking on a nationwide search for a Vanessa look-alike to re-enact the legend’s early XXX action. And those are tough panties to fill. Scenes are scheduled to be shot in alleys, cabs, dive motels, and peep-show booths, all staple locales of classic Gallant fare and fabled del Rio exploits of yore. The four-hour feature, set to enter production next month, will be the consummate ode to the South-of-the-Border superstar.
“She’s the best,” Gallant agreed. “She’s the embodiment of what we do.”
