Teacher Resigns Over Porn Star Date

MONESSEN, Pa. - Art teacher Jaison Biagini tendered his resignation from Monessen High School Tuesday in the aftermath of winning a contest from Sirius radio's "Bubba the Love Sponge" show that sent him on a date in St. Petersburg, Fla. with internet porn starlet Akira (pictured).

According to local paper The Valley Independent, Biagini, who is confined to a wheelchair, implied during a follow-up telephone interview with the show that he had been unaware of the contest's nature, and was offended at how he was portrayed, contending he'd suffered unexpected ridicule for his handicap.

In response, the show has chastised Biagini on the air, saying he knew precisely what he was getting himself into, and contradicting his claims that he entered the contest for the chance to visit St. Petersburg's Salvador Dali Museum.

Biagini had taught at Monessen High School for 14 years, and gave "retirement purposes" as the reason for his resignation.
