Showtime to Debut AVN Awards Show Saturday Night

LOS ANGELES - The 2009 AVN Awards Show will make its world broadcast debut Saturday night on the Showtime Network, in both high-definition and standard formats, at 12 midnight (9 p.m. for those on the West Coast who have an East Coast feed of Showtime).

Hosted by Belladonna, Jenna Haze and raunchy comic Thea Vidale, the nearly two-hour show includes a performance by chart-topping, hip-hop artist Flo Rida, spectacular entertainment, and appearances by every major adult star working today.

"This second year on Showtime, we've increased the erotic content and the entertainment and production values," said Gary Miller, producer of the show. "The girls are sexier, the comedy bits are hilarious, the red carpet show is a blast and Flo Rida gets the evening off to a rousing start."

"I am extremely excited, amazed and still honored to have been given a chance to host the AVN Awards," says Haze, who was named Female Performer of the Year at the event. "And, I can't wait to see it on Showtime. Hosting the show, I was backstage most of the time. I didn't get to see all the jokes and all the stuff so I'm really excited to see the show in all its entirety. I hope everyone watches!"

After its debut this Saturday, Showtime will be airing repeats all month long, including showings on April 30 at 12:30 a.m., May 1 at midnight on Showtime Showcase and May 3 at 1:30 a.m. on Showtime Too (check your local schedule). In addition, the show will be available on Showtime's On-Demand system.

"It's amazing to be associated with the hottest network on television," said Paul Fishbein, president of AVN Media Network. "It's an honor to have our world broadcast premiere on Showtime and I know the show will not disappoint even the most casual fan. And it just looks great in high-definition."
