Seth Rogen: 'I Love Porn'

TORONTO - The porn industry has a friend in Seth Rogen. The star of Hollywood megahits Superbad, Knocked Up, The 40-Year-Old Virgin and Pineapple Express spoke out about his appetite for XXX while promoting Kevin Smith's upcoming comedy Zack and Miri Make A Porno.

"I love porn," Rogen told the Associated Press. "I watch tons of porn. The Internet speeds have evolved directly with my sexual drive. I almost did [the movie] purely based on the title."

Rogen and Elizabeth Banks star in Zack and Miri as broke slackers who attempt to make an amateur porn vid to get out of debt. The cast also includes two real-life hardcore actresses: Katie Morgan, and the notorious Traci Lords.

Like Rogen, writer/director Smith (Clerks, Chasing Amy) told the AP he regularly checks out Internet porn - but for different reasons. (Sure, dude.)

"I'm a morning porn peruser, and not for the titillation factor. I just find it interesting," Smith said. "I'll go read Google news, I'll go read Guardian UK, go read our Web site, and then if I've got nothing else, I will just peruse the porn sites, because it's an ever-expanding world. Just when you see the most outlandish clip you could ever see, somebody introduces something new. I just check in periodically just to see how far porn has gone in my absence."

One of many raunchy lines in the movie involves a fictional gay porn flick called You Better Shut Your Mouth or I’m Going To Fuck It.

The movie nearly got slapped with an NC-17, even after Smith trimmed a comedic sex scene between Morgan and Jason Mewes. The director appealed the rating to the MPAA to get the film reclassified as an R.

"It's not titillating in the least," Smith said of the offending scene. "If you're turned on by this, then we didn't do our job very well."

Zack and Miri premieres Sunday at the Toronto International Film Festival and arrives in theaters Oct. 31.
