XXX columnist/personality/website owner (JasonCurious.com) Jason Sechrest has formed a video company, DV8 Entertainment, which will produce gay and straight XXX movies, he announced in a September 1 press release.
Sechrest, who plans to shoot his first three movies in October, said, "I feel like it's a natural progression for me.I've been a journalist for seven years, which means I've had to really study the adult entertainment business from every angle. I've been on sets every week and I've watched the true greats. I've learned what works and what doesn't and I think I have a unique vision.
"We're going to be making some really groundbreaking movies, even on the business end," he continued, "and I hope that people will follow our lead. I don't want to give anything away too quickly, but I will say that it's far past time for the power and the money to be put into the hands of the performers who put their reputations and sometimes even their lives on the line when they step in front of that camera."
DV8 Entertainment's first release will be a big-budget feature, Bully, followed by the first installments of two series, one being a reality/gonzo line and the other a series of solos.
"I'm very inspired by the way Blue Blake ran his company," said Sechrest of the recently retired GAYVN Hall of Fame'er. "He didn't crank out mediocre title after title. He really put all his time and energy into just a few big releases a year and they were all so perfect. I'd love to pick up that torch and run with it."
Sechrest discusses his new company in the current issue of Cybersocket and next Friday's issue of Pulp. He appears on the cover of both magazines. He will also appear live tonight on the Gay Internet Radio Live sex talk radio program, Raw Talk Live, at 5:20 p.m. (PDT) prior to his own weekly live show, KSEXradio's The Young & the Curious, at 6:00.
