Scream Queen: Angie Savage Cast in New Horror, Sci-fi Films

LOS ANGELES—Don’t let the sex kitten voice or bubbly personality fool you; Angie Savage can die a gruesome on-screen death. The petite, blonde AVN Award winner appears in no less than four mainstream horror and sci-fi thriller films releasing in the coming months.

First up is the horror film Cut in which Savage was originally slated to be an extra, but was bumped up into one of the lead roles after meeting with the director, Joe Hollow. Savage plays Carmen, the main character’s murderous girlfriend.

“It was her voice, presence and talent as an actor that sparked a new plot into an already written script,” Hollow said.

Cut was filmed last November in West Virginia and New York and is set for theatrical release this summer.

Next up for Savage was Piranhaconda, a Syfi Channel original movie, starring Michael Madsen and Rachel Hunter. Produced by Roger Corman, Piranhaconda tells the story of “a low-budget horror movie crew, inept kidnappers and a reptile expert battle a monstrous anaconda/piranha hybrid in the Amazon jungle.”

Savage plays a nerdy production assistant in the movie-within-a-movie and gets killed in a pretty brutal way.

“We filmed in Hawaii and it was a lot of fun,” Savage told AVN. “The special effects are going to be awesome and I die in a pretty spectacular way. It was all green screen and I put up a hell of a fight!”

Lizard Man, also an original Syfi Channel production, finds Savage playing a porn star—something she knows plenty about. Savage, known for her girl/girl work, started in the industry in 2005 and has performed in more than 70 adult movies. She won an AVN Award in 2008 for Best All-Girl Sex Scene in Digital Playground’s Babysitters.

Regardless of her desire to be the next screen queen, Savage still stays active on the adult scene. She recently wrapped Freak for Wicked Pictures, starring Alektra Blue. Savage also films exclusive content for her official website, AngieSavage.com.

“I’m going to continue doing adult movies because I still enjoy them,” Savage said. “I like being able to pick my projects and film great, hot scenes for my website. It’s really the best of both worlds I have to say. Doing horror and sci-fi movies gives me a new appreciation and excitement for adult work too.”

Rounding out Savage’s mainstream projects is the adult-themed indie The Locals in which she plays fictional Vivid contract girl Bambi Lynn Taylor. Savage explained that the production got permission from Vivid to use its brand, and that the movie contains lots of tongue-in-cheek adult references.

“I’m a real bubbly, ditzy, blonde character, which is probably the closest to home I’ve played,” Savage said, laughing. “I like being able to show my range as an actress.”

Piranhaconda, Lizard Man and The Locals are all due out later this year.
