Savanna Samson Lands Cover of 'Steppin' Out'

NEW YORK - Steppin' Out Magazine, a weekly publication covering the entertainment scene in the Northeastern U.S., says Vivid Girl Savanna Samson is "considered the cream of the crop within the adult film world." The magazine profiles the AVN award-winning star in its current issue, on newsstands now, in connection with the release of her first single CD from KOCH Records.

In her interview with writer Chaunce Hayden, Samson also reveals that actor Ken Stafford, who was on "Survivor: Thailand," recently asked her to make a "celebrity sex tape" with her. She refused.  "I thought it was so funny. I said, 'I'm sorry, but I can't help you out.'" Because she is an adult star, she said, men almost always expect her to hop into bed with them. "I was kind of taken aback that he thought being with me would be a sex scandal. I happen to be a good girl!" she told the magazine.

Hayden, who wrote the profile accompanying his interview of Samson for the magazine, listed her myriad acting awards, including two AVN Best Actress honors.

"The AVN accolades-coupled with an enthusiastic endorsement from Howard Stern and a lucrative Vivid contract-have transformed this X-rated starlet into a multi-million dollar enterprise," Hayden writes. "Now Samson, who made the difficult crossover to mainstream acceptance with her award winning wine (Savanna's first vintage wine was given a thumbs-up by noted wine expert Robert M. Parker) is once again dabbling in something other than sex. Her most recent project is a music career that features Savanna as both singer and songwriter. The first single from her upcoming album, 'Possession,' is currently available on iTunes.

Hayden said he "photographed Samson at Rick's Cabaret, the upscale gentleman's club in Manhattan, and later spoke to this sexy entrepreneur about her music and how she really feels about her past choices."

Asked how she got a record contract, Samson said, "I was doing a radio tour and for some reason just started to sing 'Happy Days Are Here Again.'  Anyway, someone from KOCH Records heard me and thought it would be a good idea to get me in the studio. I never trained for it. I had some early musical theater training, but that's it." Samson says making her first record was much harder than acting in her first XXX movie. "I found that I could take my clothes off in front of any camera. But the mic definitely intimidated me," she told Hayden.

"What do you say to those people who will read this and roll their eyes without even giving your music a chance?" Hayden asked, to which Samson replied: "I don't live my life like that. I know there will be people who hate my music and people who love it. Look, people rolled their eyes when I announced I was making my own wine. People said, 'Oh, please, a porn star making wine?' But don't knock it until you try it. Now my wine is rated one of the best in the world. I just hope people are pulling for me and that there's more of a future for me than just in the porn industry. I just want people to give me a chance."

She said her first single, "Possession," comes from her own experience. "In my personal life and in my business life, people are always trying to kiss me or offer me money to have sex with them. People assume that because I'm in the adult industry that they can have their way with me. The point of the song is, why can't I just be a businesswoman? Why can't I just be in the wine world and be taken seriously? Why do I always have to fight someone off at the end of the night? So my song 'Possession' was just a fun way to scold all those people who think they can have me. Guess what? You can't! Just because I'm in the adult industry doesn't mean that I'm a hooker."
