AVN Hall of Fame director and producer, Roy Karch, is marking the 25th anniversary of his production company A Roy Karch Riff, with nine new movies set for release this fall from Adam & Eve, Hustler, and Sex Z Pictures.
“People say that porn is recession-proof,” Karch said.
“It’s not. The way to succeed is to combine the best of what made porn popular in the first place while helping to define today’s trends.”
Karch’s fall release schedule includes everything from high-end features to down-and-dirty gonzos starring such starlets as Vicki Vette, Cassidy Blue, Harmony, Naomi, Lisa Ann and Charlotte Stokely.
Hustler also called on Karch to direct its Jim Holliday tribute Night Shift Nurses…Escort Service which Karch re-imagined for today’s audience.
Among his upcoming titles are Sex Z releases, America’s Next Top Porn Model, Real MILF of the O.C., Cum Eating Teens 5, Graigs List, Hot for Teacher, along with Adam & Eve’s Dirty Love, Pussy Worship 2 and Rawditions 2, among others.
“People talk about porn’s ‘Golden Age’ and everything after,” Karch said.
“I’ve been to the Golden Age. I helped define it. And now I’m part of the Gonzo Age, or whatever people are calling it. I want to create a Third Coming of Porn, where Golden Age art is mixed with Gonzo Age speed.”
Karch, who is responsible for shooting the first porn on video, 1974’s Underground Tonight Show in New York City and later led porn’s video era in 1978, began his career a live performer in Times Square simulated sex shows, a distinction he shares with Vivid’s contract director Paul Thomas.
