Veteran porn performer Ron Jeremy signed copies of the documentary Porn Star: The Legend of Ron Jeremy at the Tower Video on Sunset Blvd. last night. The Porn Star DVD, released by Docurama, "outsold the pre-orders for Don't Look Back [a 1967 documentary by D.A. Pennebaker that recorded Bob Dylan's 1965 tour of England]," according to Docurama Director of Marketing Ellen Capon. "I outsold Bob Dylan," a pleased Jeremy announced.
"Look at this," Jeremy said, pointing at the DVD. "I finally got the box cover."
"When the signing began at 6:00, he line of fans led back to the parking lot, and Jeremy was still signing autographs at 7:30. "We sold 80 or 90 DVDs," Darrell, a supervisor at the store, observed. "He got here, went right in and started to work with the fans. It was very successful," store manager Patrick agreed.
"Jeremy was joined by an entourage that included his sister (who is also featured in the documentary), a cousin visiting Los Angeles from England, Porn Star director Scott Gill, actor John Clark and Jeremy's girlfriend.
