Ron Jeremy Recounts Book Excerpt Involving Brittany Murphy

LOS ANGELES—Ron Jeremy told AVN he once shared the silver screen with late actress Brittany Murphy, and their friendship led to an excerpt in his 2007 autobiography “Ron Jeremy: The Hardest (Working) Man in Showbiz.”

“She played my waitress and I played the bartender in a movie called Spun [in 2002],” Jeremy said Wednesday. Murphy died Sunday at the age of 32.

“Brittany was my waitress, we did some dialogue together and we became very friendly,” Jeremy said, relaying a memorable moment he had with her at the Hollywood wrap party for the movie. “We were at the wrap party for Spun and there were a lot of famous celebrities there. I remember I wanted to meet Christina Aguilera, and Brittany and her boyfriend at the time, Ashton Kutcher, both brought me over to meet Christina Aguilera.

"They introduced me to her and I said to Christina, ‘I think you have one of the most beautiful voices on this planet.’ She gave me a look, just looked me up and down and then turned right away from me back to her drink. So at the same time Ashton Kutcher and Brittany Murphy both said, ‘you are a bitch,’ right to her face. She was so upset that she got up and left after that.

“That’s why all my friends have always loved Brittany Murphy and Ashton Kutcher. My friends Juniper and Phoebe witnessed it and it was in my book. It was a huge snub.”

Jeremy added, “I’m very saddened by her death. I’ve run into her at various events and she was always a living doll.”
