Ron Jeremy Having Jolly 55th on Tour in UK

LONDON — Today, the Hedgehog turns 55, and he's enjoying the day on English soil, where he's in the middle of a whirlwind, 10-day "Evening With Ron Jeremy" tour of UK colleges.

AVN spoke to Ron today via telephone from across the pond, and he filled us in on his veddy exciting activities of the moment.

"10 colleges, 10 days, very fast, very furious," he explained. "It includes London, Liverpool, Nottingham ... just all over the damn place. I already did Oxford many years ago, so I didn't do Oxford, but I did a bunch of other colleges where I host 'An Evening With Ron Jeremy.'

"It might be a pajama party, it might be just an evening of conversation, it might be a comedy act, I might be introducing a band," Jeremy went on. "But each college has something for me to do."

Ron said the tour was booked by his agent Mike Esterman, along with some promoters in England, and in addition to appearing at the various colleges, he did a TV show in Dublin and has another scheduled tomorrow in London, and he's also promoting his autobiography, "Ron Jeremy: The Hardest (Working) Man in Showbiz," from Harper Collins.

"I'll be gone for a total of 12 days, and I'm getting back just in time to do Bewitched for Will Ryder," he said. "When I get to LAX, I have exactly an hour and a half to get to the set. Busy is just the way I like it."

He added that he regretted having to miss a promotional appearance for Justin Kane's Spunk'd the Movie (6969 Entertainment) to go on the tour. But hey, contrary to what some might say, there's only so much Ron Jeremy to go around.

Happy birthday, Ron.
