Romi Rain Visits the Dark Side for Jules Jordan Video

CHATSWORTH, Calif.—Romi Rain now can brag about a distinction that few performers can claim: She’s shared a visit to the dark side with Jules Jordan.

Veteran adult director Jordan previously visited those environs in Gina Lynn's Dark Side (2004), Jenna Haze Dark Side (2006) and Alexis Ford Darkside (2012), all critically acclaimed titles. So it’s exciting to hear that he’s booked a return ticket for Romi Rain Darkside. The star showcase, which features Rain in six scenes, streets on September 29. Jordan described the award-winning series as a project that showcases a single star through a series of vignettes In this volume, Rain performs in her first anal scene, first interracial, first B/B/G and first blowbang.

"It takes a while to find the right star for this series,” he explained. "Sometimes it can go years without a release. I was very intrigued with Romi. She is clearly a sexual athlete, and has very dominating features. Her enthusiasm is beyond what I've seen in a starlet in years—I knew she was the right fit.”

"I've been wanting to do this since Jules and I started talking about it when I was signing for him at Adult Expo last year," Rain told AVN. "It's expanding my horizons. It has my first interracial scene, with Lexington Steele; my first anal scene, with Manuel Ferrara; my first blowbang; and some Dom-sub stuff with POV. Six scenes all together, and there's no scene I don't like. He wanted me to get as wild as possible, and we gave it our all. That’s my style too."

Visual grace notes include Rain transformed into a tiger (after a six-hour body-paint job) for the scene with Ferrara, and a home invasion staging for the blowbang, with Rain dreaming in her bed as her place is invaded by six guys with flashlight headpieces. "That light is the only light in the scene," Rain said, adding, "As the scene goes on, I become the aggressor."

Other scenes involve a miniature helicopter for overhead shots and guerrilla shooting on Pasadena's landmark Colorado Boulevard Bridge, colloquially known as "Suicide Bridge," which is also the location for the cover picture.

"It's a beautiful bridge," Rain noted. "I had never seen it before. We were shooting and saw some couples making out. We left each other alone."

Another scenario features Logan Pierce and Van Wylde as door-to-door missionaries seduced by Rain, who answers her door (un)dressed in lingerie.

Jordan noted, “For this volume we used innovative filming techniques, including use of drones to get aerial shots, super-slow-motion cameras that record 240 frames per second, and shot in the highest quality HD available.”

"Jules cares about his product and so do I," Rain said. "It's both of us at our best. Loud, dynamic and fun." The two-disc set has more than three hours of program material: "Some of the scenes go quite long, and they’re good."

The Sept. 29 release of Romi Rain Darkside qualifies the DVD for consideration in the 2015 awards cycle.
