Reel Wife: Judge Torpedoes Release of Danielle Staub's Sex Tape

PATTERSON, N.J. — A judge has stopped the release of a sex tape featuring one of the stars of the Bravo reality show The Real Housewives of New Jersey.

As reported Monday by AVN.com, the ex-boyfriend of the program’s Danielle Staub, Stephen Zalewski, told the tabloid Star that he planned to market a sex tape of the couple. It's been also suggested Staub had aspirations to appear in Playboy and the publicity surrounding such a tape would send her on her way.

But Staub, a 46-year-old divorcée and single mother, didn't want to see the sex tape released and filed a restraining order.

On Wednesday, at the Passaic County courthouse, State Superior Court Judge Thomas F. Brogan ordered an injunction banning the release of any sexually explicit video — or pictures — of Staub and Zalewski until a hearing scheduled for July 21, reports The Huffington Post.

Zalewski, 27, who did not appear in court, was also ordered to produce all copies of the video and photos of Staub.

Staub also filed a lawsuit against Zalewski seeking damages for invasion of privacy, defamation and infliction of emotional distress.

Zalewski claimed Staub wanted to have sex all the time, especially in public, ranging from her own outside patio to a car at a police firing range to a public park.

“She loves the thrill of doing it in public places, where she might get caught,” he told Star. “She wanted to make love in restaurant bathrooms basically every time we went out — she’d get all excited and say, ‘The people can hear you doing it outside!’ ”

Staub and Zalewski dated from May 2008 to December 2008, and their break-up was seen on the Real Housewives program. Staub claimed he wants to release the tape in retaliation against her and her two daughters, 11 and 15 years old.

Of the sex tape, Zalewski said, “I’m definitely weighing my options as far as selling them and getting them out there. She cost me so much money, why shouldn’t I make a few dollars?”

Staub said she didn’t know their sexual activity was taped and only learned of it when someone read her the Star story. She told the judge it “sickened” her.

“This is about my kids,” Staub said. “I’m a big girl. Do what you want to me. But you broke bread with my children. Don’t do this to me. No adult should ever do this to a child.”

Staub does have a troubled past, including a recently revealed FBI arrest involving drug deals and an escort service. But that was more than two decades ago.
