CHATSWORTH, Calif.—AVN Award-nominated director Ralph Long invokes the true spirit of genre moviemaking with three recently completely efforts for Spizoo.
Long turned to a classic from late horror maestro Wes Craven as inspiration for one of these, Hills Have Thighs XXX. Featuring Spizoo co-owner and contract performer Jessica Jaymes, the movie also stars newcomers Gina Valentina and Sophia Leone.
Shot over five days in the Las Vegas desert, Hills promises what Long describes as "a true comedy horror feeling." He elaborated, "I was going for a mix of comedy inspired by Zombieland and horror from Wes Craven."
The movie finds two college kids getting lost in the desert and stalked by evil sex demons (Valentina and Leone). Long was particularly impressed with Valentina's performance, calling her "the best actress I've directed in years ... a star in the making."
Hills Have Thighs XXX co-stars Nina Elle and Alix Lynx, and is due out in February.
Long, whose 2016 AVN Award nominations tally includes ones for Spizoo features Deadpool XXX and The Colombian XXX, also just wrapped the second and third chapters of his sci-fi trilogy Space Sex, whose debut installment released earlier this month. Though on the surface it seems inspired by the Star Wars franchise currently stirring worldwide excitement, Long explained that his three-part saga is actually based on the 1982 Roger Corman-produced B thriller Mutant.
Among the stars of volumes two and three are 2016 AVN Award nominees Karlee Grey, Abigail Mac and Mercedes Carrera, and the finale also offers a rare appearance by super agent Mark Spiegler in a non-sex role, as well as the return after a nearly three-year hiatus of AVN Award-nominated starlet Valerie Kay.
"Working with Ralph is always an out-of-this-world experience," Kay told AVN. "It feels good being back doing what I love to do. Nothing beats fucking for a living!"
Space Sex 2 is scheduled to arrive in February as well, with Space Sex 3 following in April. All Spizoo titles are distributed on DVD by Girlfriends Films.
