CHATSWORTH, Calif. - Pulse Distribution has struck a deal to distribute a line of DVDs from Miami-based director Cezar Capone (a.k.a. Bill Fisher.)
Launched last fall through Juicy Entertainment, the Cezar Capone brand will be available from Pulse beginning July 1 with the release of Deviant, starring contract girl Morgan Dayne. The disc will be available in single and double-disc editions.
Arguably the leading shooter in Florida's burgeoning porno scene, Capone directs the popular Filthy Films amateur line for Club Jenna and had a hand in the making of Philip Mond's AVN award-winning movie Sinema. The director's recent credits include the big-budget Club Jenna feature High Definition.
"We don't want to be like all the L.A. companies," Capone told AVN. "We're like the Galapagos islands of porn - a new species is beginning to develop out here in Florida! We want to be our own little company that has specific new girls that you can't see anywhere else."
Adult industry veteran Howard Levine will handle worldwide DVD sales for the label. Levine has repped Capone's product for Club Jenna and also sells the Florida-based Reality Kings brand.
"We want the distributors and the stores behind us - that's our priority," Levine told AVN. "We're going from an old-school approach - nothing will be put on VOD at all. Cezar Capone is really cognizant of the fact that the retailers and the distributors need to make money - and they need to have something that nobody else can get, especially at a cheap price. We're not going to take the route of selling it to the distributors and putting it online the same day for $8.99."
But that doesn't mean Capone is ignoring the internet. Coinciding with the move to Pulse, the flagship site CezarCapone.com will launch July 1.
"With our web venture, we want to create an online network owned and run by the directors that shoot the stuff - without a whole bunch of desk jockeys whothink they know what's going on," Capone said. "We're going to do exclusive footage for the online market. We're also doing some exclusive BTS and bonus features solely on DVD, so all of our clients will get something special."
The online network's affiliate program is called CezarCash. Capone's old pal Dirty Sanchez of Bang Bros. fame is directing for the online venture and will also have his own DVD line.
"Cezar Capone and I have been working together for years and he taught me a lot of what I know now about video and photography," Sanchez told AVN. "We'll be doing a lot of good reality sites, fetish sites, big tits, asses - we're trying to cover all the niches that we don't feel have been done right. We're going to shoot according to what we enjoy doing in our real lives - that's what we like to see on video."
Capone stressed the company's goal of landing exclusive talent - girls that the director picks up himself in Miami, fresh from their 18th birthday parties.
"We're looking for more contract girls," Capone said. "That's one of our main focuses for the last quarter 2008. We're very selective; we're not interested in girls that have done porn before, even if it's only a few scenes. We want the ones who are brand-new to this; we'll put the energy into making them look special, we'll teach them how to define their image and we'll pay them very nicely as exclusive performers."
Capone has several series on his slate including My Neighbor's Sex Tape, POV Fixation, the big-dick line Moose Cock and My Personal Panties, a female-directed solo line culled from the first-time on-camera experiences of fresh porn recruits.
"We're really strong into doing multiple scenes, more than eight per disc for the DVD line," Capone said. "We want to give the most bang for the buck. Some releases will be 2-disc sets, some will include posters; every one is going to be different."
