Producer/Director HJ Forms Nevaquit Media

LOS ANGELES - Producer/director HJ has parted ways with John Stagliano's Buttman Magazine Choice label to launch his own distribution house, Nevaquit Media.

Formed in partnership with HJ's longtime friend and business associate Justin Slayer, Nevaquit Media will bring Internet content to DVD at a competitive price point. HJ will spearhead the new venture as CEO while continuing to work under Slayer at Justin Slayer International.

"Our goal is to dominate the urban/ethnic internet and DVD marketplace," HJ said. "I plan to follow the same business model as John Stagliano, Jules Jordan, and Justin by allowing the directors to have true ownership of their product. It's been proven over and over again that directors tend to make a better product when they are able to share in the financial success of their movies."

HJ has been in talks with several directors about shooting for Nevaquit Media, emphasizing the web-focused nature of the new company.

"The directors on my roster will already have a successful internet presence and already have a fanbase that will support their product on many different platforms including DVD and Blu-ray," he said. "In addition, I will bring in other directors who have been shooting exclusively for the web but have no DVD distribution."

HJ entered the adult industry in 1998 as a webmaster, and learned the DVD business while working with Slayer at Evil Angel. On his own, he directed five movies for Buttman Magazine Choice: Big Booty Betty Blockhead, Keep it Right There 1 & 2, and Work It Work It, Get It Get It 1 and 2

"We wish HJ all the best," Evil Angel sales manager Christian Mann told AVN. "His departure from Buttman Magazine Choice is very much an amicable split. He's a very forward-thinking guy, and we're always happy to see our friends move toward an opportunity for growth."

HJ echoed Mann's sentiments. "I have really enjoyed working with John Stagliano and Karen for these past five years," he said. "I will always consider them my friends, and I've learned a lot about the business from them, as well as from Justin."

Nevaquit Media will release a third volume of Work It Work It, Get It Get It in late March, featuring Penthouse Pet and AVN Best New Starlet nominee and Tori Black.
