Porn Stars to Compete in Charity Fundraiser

SANTA MONICA, Calif. - Bad Ass Models owner Frank Prather, a.k.a. Bad Ass Frank, has organized Search 4 a Cause, an annual charity event launching this Sunday, June 3.

Search 4 a Cause is a scavenger hunt that will send teams of three to six people all over Santa Monica looking for various items and clues. Hailey Young, Micah Moore, Vanessa Lynn, Ginger Lee, Kacey Villainess and Faye Runaway are among the porn stars scheduled to play, with proceeds to benefit Hunter C.A.R.E., Children of Uganda, the ALS Association and other charities.

"I came up with the idea a few months ago," Prather told AVN.com. "I've been pretty active in charity work for the past few years, but I never really had a particular charity or organization that I had an affinity for. So I wanted to create an event that would be somewhat unique and where I could get people who were, like me, looking for something, looking for a way to start to participate and raise money for a good cause, but weren't sure of how to go about it. So I just made it easy.

"I had the scavenger hunt idea a long time ago," Prather continued, "so I found this lady who designs scavenger hunts for a living and contacted her, and told her how I wanted to go about it, that I wanted people to be able to play for the charity of their choice. Or, if they didn't have a charity, they could come and participate, and we would put them on a team or find them a charity to play for."

Information on participating or sponsoring a team is available at search4acause.com, and Prather urges interested parties to register immediately, though he said the event should be able to accommodate anybody who shows up.

"The one thing is," Prather ceded, "one of our major sponsors is a company called Pinger, which is a voice via text messaging kinda thing; because they're our major sponsor, we're distributing a few of the clues via Pinger, which means that at least one person on each team has to be signed up for their service. And it's free. But other than that, they just need to show up either by themselves or with their team, and have a charity or don't … we're very flexible this year, just to make it happen and figure out what we did wrong."

Search 4 a Cause kicks off Sunday at 2 p.m.
