BURBANK, Calif.—Porn Star Karaoke, the Tuesday night adult-industry get-together at Sardo's Grill and Lounge, will return tonight after an almost three-month hiatus while Sardo's was closed to repair damages after an electrical fire in early February.
"Life can finally resume. We have PSK back," PSK host Nicki Hunter told AVN. "Can't wait to see all the smiling faces at Sardo's tonight."
Sardo's has been the home of Porn Star Karaoke from its beginning in the summer of 2003, when adult-indusry professionals filled the bar and a line of latecomers and civilans ringed the building until closing time. In the 12-year history of PSK the event has hosted adult industry professionals and mainstream celebrities, held annual Toys For Tots toy drives, and been covered in mainstream news sources including GQ, LA Weekly and Vice.com. Sardo's and owner Seymour Satin were inducted into the XRCO Hall of Fame as a "Friend of the Industry" at the April 11th award ceremony
Sardo's re-opened Thursday, April 23, after an extensive post-fire makeover, which included repainting, replacing of wall hangings, replacing smoke-damaged furniture and upholstered seating, as well as replacement of damaged kitchen equipment and parts of the bar.
"We re-opened on Thursday, and business was good," Satin told AVN. "We did well over the weekend. I'm looking forward to seeing some old friends that I haven't seen for some time tonight at PSK."
Sardo's Grill and Lounge is located at 259 N. Pass Avenue in Burbank. Porn Star Karaoke starts at 9 p.m. every Tuesday night. Admission—21 and older, with photo ID—and parking are free.
