CHATSWORTH, Calif. - Is someone at Pink Visual a Black Sabbath fan? Or is the title of the company's first Blu-ray release Masters of Reality Porn just a coincidence?
We may never know. But what is certain is that the internet-based content producer has officially scrapped plans to release the movie on HD DVD in the wake of Toshiba's recent decision to kill the format.
"We are responding to consumer and industry demand," said Pink Visual's Kim Kysar. "With Toshiba's recent announcement that they will no longer be
producing HD DVD, the battle has finally been decided."
Pink Visual had initially planned to issue Masters of Reality Porn in standard DVD and HD DVD only because of the high production and replication costs associated with Blu-ray. The company later expanded these plans to include Blu-ray given the
growing popularity of the Sony format.
"Now the tide has turned completely and we will be
releasing Masters of Reality Porn in SD and Blu-ray only," Kysar said.
