Pink TV Partners With Wasteland

After two-and-one-half years of producing exclusive content and two years of building out the company’s more than 25,000-square-foot studio in Miami, Pink TV has pulled back the veil. Now it has partnered with Wasteland.com and the SpiceCash family of sites to offer even more original content for Pink TV.

BDSM and fetish site Wasteland has teamed with Pink TV to create the world’s first 12-episode hardcore adult soap opera.

Titled “Into the Mist,” the show is a dominance-themed erotic weekly drama series with supernatural undertones. Wasteland’s Bethany Burke wrote the show and worked on-set as an acting coach. Wasteland honcho Colin Rowntree directed the show, and Pink TV provided a 10-man crew and handled all the postproduction at its facilities in Prague, Czech Republic.

“Starring porn-star notables Dale DaBone, Lezley Zenn, and Veronika Raquel, the show will set new standards in the industry,” says Pink TV President Jan Verleur, executive producer of the show. “The sex is super-hot, paired with tightly interwoven plot twists and compelling characters that will make ‘Into the Mist’ a real winner.

“Like so many other projects we have going right now, ‘Into the Mist’ offers the adult consumer a hybrid mix of mainstream dramatic TV together with the sexiness of hardcore erotica,” Verleur continues. “I am very excited to partner with Colin and his team—in fact, we are already planning the second series to be shot in Eastern Europe this summer.”

“Into the Mist” will air on the Pink TV Channel and on cable-VoD in 10 European markets this year. The series also will be available worldwide to more than half a million Web trial subscribers being ported through PinkTV.com, beginning in May 2006. All Wasteland.com subscribers will be given 30 days free to try Pink TV.

“This is truly a great time for me as a director, creatively speaking,” says Rowntree. “I am proud to be working with Pink TV, and I look forward to everything we are about to put out there.

“With all the markets Pink TV will be launching in the next couple of years, this show will have an enormous amount of reach,” he continues. “We invested a great deal of time and creative energy [in] putting together a totally new concept in adult, and I can’t wait to see people’s reactions. I believe that with Pink TV behind the show, our efforts will really pay off.

“I’m also exited about all the business the show will create for Wasteland.com and the other SpiceCash sites.”
