Performer/first-time director Penny Flame has signed an exclusive directorial contract with Shane’s World. Flame will direct a minimum of six productions for the company in the next year.
“Directing was something I’ve always wanted to do,” Flame told AVN.com. “I had never had the opportunity and I had never had anyone willing to take a chance on me. I worked for Shane’s World and we just clicked like butter and garlic. Everybody at the company is awesome.”
Flame, who stars in Red Light District Films’ first film Darkside, will still be performing scenes for other companies but her directing efforts will only go to Shane’s World.
On choosing Flame to join the company roster, Shane’s World co-owner Jennie Grant said, “We've been in this business for over 10 years and if that has given us anything, it would be the ability to see what works for us. From the first time we met Penny, we could see that she was someone who would be a good fit. We’ve been looking to expand and do more lines and if we wanted to bring in anyone, we wanted it to be a female director to get that female presence who could shoot but also be in front of the camera as well. When you have a girl behind the camera, you are able to elicit different responses from the performers and from the regular people you come in contact with. Shane’s World has always been about women having a good time and Penny is perfect for showing that.”
“It’s OK to like sex and go out and hassle people and have fun. I really love that about Shane’s World,” Flame echoed.
Flame will initially direct two series for the company. Girls Night Out will be a gonzo party night series with Flame and her friends having evening adventures and the second untitled series will be gonzo as well with a love for marijuana thrown in for fun.
“I just want to have fun and that’s the whole point of Shane’s World,” Flame said of her goals. “I knew that I would get to do fun and crazy thing with Shane’s World that weren’t just corny porno set-ups. I want to have a lot of fun doing what I do and make a lot of money doing it.”
The first Girls Night Out will be released in the fall.
