Oregon Strip Club Drops Liquor License

Larry Lacey, the owner of a local strip club called Club 71, has voluntarily relinquished the club's liquor license, according to a recently published report. The club has been opposed by residents of the small town since it opened two years ago.

The club is now operating as a juice bar, reported the Oregon News Review, meaning customers 18 and over can see the entertainment.

Janet Ouellette, the Oregon Liquor Control Commission regulatory specialist for the count, told the News Review that the two violations pending against the club — not having enough seating in the dining area and selling alcohol to a visibly intoxicated person — have been dropped.

According to the report, Lacey opened the club in February 2005 amid protests. He later went to court to successfully fight attempts by the county to shut down the business.

Ouellette told reporters that if Lacey wants to return to selling alcohol at Club 71, he will have to apply for a new license and go through the investigation, public notice and other steps.
