New Beverly Cinema Screens XXX Classic

LOS ANGELES - Radley Metzger's 1976 adult film classic The Opening Of Misty Beethoven will screen this Saturday, Dec. 8 at the New Beverly Cinema. Organizers hope the event will be the first in a monthly series of midnight screenings showcasing classic 35mm XXX features.

"We've shown biker films, women in prison films, kung fu, Italian zombies, gore classics...and now we present the missing piece of the classic 42nd Street film experience," said Brian Quinn, who programs the theater's Grindhouse Film Festival along with Eric Caidin of Hollywood Book and Poster and Grindhouse Releasing.

Adult film veteran Bill Margold will be on hand as a special guest to introduce the film. The theater will also screen a reel of rare 35mm hardcore trailers.

"Here's your chance to see 70's adult films on the big screen as they were meant to be seen, surrounded by other fans and freaks," said Quinn. "Bring a date, find a date at the event, or show up alone in a raincoat. Happy endings not guaranteed, but always a possibility."

Directed by Metzger under his 'Henry Paris' pseudonym, The Opening of Misty Beethoven stars Constance Money, Jamie Gillis, Jacqueline Beudant, Terri Hall, Ras Kean, Gloria Leonard, Calvin Culver and Mary Stuart.

The show starts at midnight. The New Beverly Cinema is located at 7165 Beverly Boulevard, Los Angeles, Calif. For more information, visit www.myspace.com/grindhouse.
