Memorial Service Set for Lee Garland

LOS ANGELES—A memorial service to celebrate the life of adult industry makeup artist Lee Garland is set for Sunday, Feb. 13, in Simi Valley.

Garland died at his home Jan. 29 following a battle with prostate cancer.

The Lee Garland Memorial Celebration will be held at 1287 Hidden Ranch Drive, Simi Valley, 93063.

“We are gathering to celebrate the life and art of our dear friend Lee Garland,” a flier for the memorial service posted on HelpLeeGarland.com states. “We are extending an invitation to all that loved him to come and join us and share your stories about Lee and how he touched your life.

“In true Lee Garland style, we ask that you put on your most ‘fabulous’ outfit and come eat, drink and party.”

Garland, who started in porn in 1987, had a very busy year in 2010, earning 2011 AVN Awards nominations for This Ain’t Avatar XXX 3D and Batman XXX: A Porn Parody, as well as working on This Ain't Star Trek XXX 2: The Butterfly Effect. All three films were directed by Axel Braun.

In 2004, Garland announced his retirement from porn, but it didn't last long. In 2005, he racked up at least six credits and kept up a pretty active pace thereafter. In addition to his career in adult films as a top-notch make-up artist and hair stylist, Garland’s handiwork was also widely seen on innumerable magazine covers and in the pages of erotic art books distributed throughout the world.
