Media Pounces on Joanna Angel's 'Ronda ArouseMe'

CHATSWORTH, Calif.—Joanna Angel just may have stumbled upon the biggest smash of her career. Since TMZ Sports interviewed her last Friday about her forthcoming parody Ronda ArouseMe (during which she and Anikka Albrite also announced to the world that they will be co-hosting the 2016 AVN Awards), a plethora of media outlets have gleefully run with the story.

Among the places where the BurningAngel send-up of MMA It Girl Ronda Rousey has made headlines are Uproxx.com, the NY Daily News, the Toronto Sun, DailyDot.com, Complex, Break.com, AskMen.com and, of course, BroBible.com.

Pretty explosive response for a project that, as Angel told TMZ, sprang entirely out of her own off-the-cuff suggestion of the title as a joke while some friends were watching Rousey fight. Naturally, it helped quite a bit that the world's eyes were on Rousey over the weekend as she took on (and almost instantly defeated) Bethe Correia in the UFC octagon.

For anyone who's missed all the hoopla, Rounda ArouseMe stars BA regular Kleio Valentien in the title role, with Sammie Sixx as rival "Miesha Taint." Also in the cast are Arabelle Raphael, Derrick Pierce and Moe "The Monster" Johnson.

"I'm overwhelmed with how much coverage this movie has gotten," Angel marveled to AVN. "It's been so exciting. I think all of Ronda's fans—and all of Kleio's fans—will love this movie. I'm trying to get it edited as soon as possible so everyone can see it. It will premiere on BurningAngel.com in the near future."

She went on to reveal that in light of the buzz the movie has already generated, "I have plans to make a sequel and include Bethe Correia's character in it." She chose Rousey's earlier opponent Miesha Tate as the foe this time, she said, because "I like her colorful outfits and I think their rivalry has some lesbian undertones."
