Matt Zane Talks About Cameo in Calvin's Dream

TORONTO - Topshaker Films will premiere Calvin's Dream, a comedy that follows pornographic filmmaker Calvin MacIntosh (who goes by Calvin Delicious) in his efforts to make The Gospel According to Calvin, hyped as the "first art-house, Catholic, feminist, pornographic film." Making cameos in the movie are Ron Jeremy, Nina Hartley, Peter North and Matt Zane. Directed by Toronto filmmaker John O'Leary, Calvin's Dream is described as American Movie meets Spinal Tap!

Zane said of his cameo, "I am always for helping indie filmmakers because when I put down the porn director hat that's what I basically become as well: an indie musician."

In keeping with the tone off the film, Zane plays a theatrical version of himself. He explained, "I was able to play a very exaggerated version of myself in the movie, which was a lot of fun. In real life you would never hear me say just about anything I said for the scene."

Calvin's Dream will premier at 11:59 p.m. on Friday, March 14, 2008 at the Bloor Cinema, located at 506 Bloor Street West, Toronto. There will be an additional showing on Saturday, March 15 at 11:59pm. Advance tickets can be purchased online at www.calvinsdream.com for $10.00, or $12.95 at the door.
