Mary Carey Launches Political Talk Show

LOS ANGELES—With John Oliver set to take over as host of The Daily Show this summer while Jon Stewart goes on hiatus, former California gubernatorial candidate Mary Carey has decided to launch a political talk show of her own. Politically Naughty with Mary Carey debuts today from 4-5 p.m. PDT on tRadiov.com

As you may remember, Carey herself was a guest on The Daily Show in 2003.

“Oliver is no Stewart," Carey said. "Hosting The Daily Show? He’d be lucky to be a commentator at Russia Today with Larry King. Unlike Oliver, I’m a real politician with the assets to deliver the news.”

Carey's show will "take a look at the bad behavior that permeates politics, especially the sex scandals, and the general misbehavior and hypocrisy that politicians so often engage in," she said.

In addition to its political focus, Carey's show also will feature celebrity guests.

“Jon Stewart’s first guest on The Daily Show was James Doohan, better known as Scotty from Star Trek,” noted Carey. “Mine is Amber Meade from The Bad Girls Club, so I think most people would agree that I’m off to a more interesting start.”

Other hosts on tRadiov.com have included Andy Dick and Billy Morrison. The network’s Los Angeles channel focuses on feature and reality programming, with a healthy dose of news, politics, and social commentary.
