Fetish director/star Julie Simone has split with Abigail Productions to handle her own video distribution for the Julie Simone Productions line.
"This wasn't really anything I'd been planning, but after reading in a press release I no longer had distribution, I felt it was the right thing to do for my company," Simone said, alluding to the recent pact between Abigail Productions and Adult Source Media.
"This way, I have more control over where my product is going, pricing, and so on."
Simone doesn't rule out going with another distribution company down the line, and emphasized that she bears no ill will toward Abigail Productions or owner Sherri Holloway.
"Sherri took me on when no one else would," Simone said. "She helped me build my line, now with 16 titles, and she helped me build up my name. I am grateful for everything she's done, but times change and this business has been through a lot of changes in this year alone."
Simone will attend the 2009 AVN Adult Entertainment Expo to making new contacts and meet with B2B buyers. She is up for three AVN Awards this year for her work in the fetish and BDSM genres.
