Jules Jordan Video Builds Brand At AEE

LAS VEGAS - One of the most popular booths at the 2008 AVN Adult Entertainment Expo was Jules Jordan Video's “pornitentiary," a massive installation complete with chain link fences and steel bars.

“In March, Jules Jordan Video will have been around for two years now,” company owner Jordan told AVN, “so this is our second year at AEE and we’re doing it big again.”

A major change to the company’s booth came with the addition of big-boob web portal Brazzers.com, which had its own annex — a mock classroom — at the back of the JJV booth. Jordan and company signed an exclusive DVD distribution deal with Brazzers in November.

“We’re marketing Brazzers as the big tit company,” said Jordan. “There has been a few companies over the years that have specialized in that and a lot of adult retailing is really niche-oriented, so we’re looking to capitalize on the big boob market. We really can’t go wrong there, because there’s always gong to be a strong demand for big tits, and we’re open to filling that demand. This industry is about what’s new and fresh, and Brazzers is definitely at the top of the game at what they do. In some cases, they’re so big on the internet I think they’re creating stars in the industry themselves. That type of power, combined with us, I think is a winning combination.”

Overseeing a host of sites including Big Tits at Work, Big Tits at School, Mommy Got Boobs and MILFs Like It Big, Brazzers is known for offering top-notch talent and footage.

“It’s going great over here, we’re having a lot of fun,” said Brazzers director Bramm Stroker from one of the school desks in the company’s booth. “We’re getting the opportunity to push the Brazzers name, because a lot of people in the DVD market might not know us that well. And now with the help of Jules Jordan Video I think we’re going to get some great exposure.”

The first Brazzers DVD title, Big Tits at Work, streets Tuesday and Big Tits at School will be out at the end of this month. Mommy Got Boobs and Pornstars Like it Big will debut in February. Initially, JJV will release two Brazzers DVD titles per month, with a possible increase in March. The official website for Brazzers DVDs will be located at www.brazzersdvds.com.

Jordan, who has seen great success as a director with Evil Angel and now as an owner/director at his own company, says he relies on his instincts and experience, rather than trying to calculate industry trends.

“We don’t follow any trends here,” he said. “I’ve been in retail and I’ve been in distribution, and when something feels right, I just try to go with it.”

Jordan added Darkside Entertainment to his distribution portfolio in December, closing a deal to handle all domestic and international sales for the award-winning ethnic label through JJV.

“Now we have Darkside’s great interracial and black product alongside that of our own director Alexander DeVoe, so that covers another really popular niche," Jordan said. "We’re just trying to hit the retailers wherever we can, and stock as many great products as we can.”

One of Jordan's big upcoming releases is Gina Lynn's Interactive, directed by former Zero Tolerance/Third Degree shooter Chris Streams. “I think this is the most involved, detailed interactive there’s ever been," Jordan said. "Usually interactive movies are one scene stretched out through the whole movie with fake cum shots, but this one is about fifteen scenes, and you get two scenes per outfit; one is an interracial scene and one is a scene with a white guy, and so everyone can relate. We’re putting a lot into marketing that movie.”

Jordan said he also took great care in selecting the talent that would be locked in his “pornitentiary” during AEE to meet and greet fans. “I wanted to get girls who were popular in our movies and had a good fanfare," he said. "This is the only place in the world where you can come to see all of the top porn stars, and I think this will remain the only place you’re going to be able to see all of the top porn stars under one roof.

“AEE is always a success for us, because it’s about the fans,” continued Jordan. “The dollar comes later. You have to bring the fans in first and then the money will come. Me, myself, I’m not in it for the money, I’m in it for the fan in me. I’m doing what I love to do. Like sports players, you do something you like to do, and then eventually it starts paying off.”
