Judge Issues Iowa Strip Club with Restraining Order

A strip club here has been issued a temporary injunction by an area judge, prohibiting it’s dancers from soliciting prostitution. The city has been trying to shut the club down for months now, stemming from several undercover operations by local authorities that reported prostitution at the club.

The Iowa-Times Republican reported that District Judge James Kelley ordered the owners of Sugar’s to “not permit prostitution at the business or allow dancers to perform behind closed doors.”

In his verdict, Kelley went on to say that the club’s dancers were not to allow patrons to be nude or allow dancers to perform any place that cannot be observed by the club manager’s station.

“The temporary injunction is the first step in [shutting down the club]”,” Mary Thee, an attorney for the city, said in the report.
