Joanna Angel Releases 'Band Sluts' Track as Single

NEW YORK—The song "Gimme Some Pants," featured in Joanna Angel's upcoming BurningAngel Entertainment/Vouyer Media comedy Band Sluts, releases today through record label Gypsy Diamond as a single available on iTunes, Rdio, Spotify and other music platforms.

As with previous movies including Rock & Roll in My Butthole and It's Big It's Black It's Inside Joanna, Angel recorded the original track specifically for Band Sluts, this time teaming up with two members of pop-punk band Fenix TX—"Small Hands" and "CL Lewis"—and forming Joanna Angel & the Gigolos for the cause. Described as having "a sound that pulls from classic punk rock and pop anthems" with influences including The Sounds, Blondie, Beehive and the Barracudas, and Sleater-Kinney, the new band plans to write follow-up tunes to "Gimme Some Pants" in the near future.

"Even though some might perceive a sexy element to the band, I didn't want the songs to be specifically about sex," Angel said. "You can see and hear enough of that stuff on BurningAngel.com. These are just fun songs that we have a good time writing and recording. Having fun is the main goal."

Gypsy Diamond co-founder Josh Grabelle, a friend of Angel's since the 1990s, commented, "Joanna is a sweetheart and I have been following all her moves for over a decade. We are both cut from the same DIY cloth and have similar tastes and interests, and I am excited to work with her on her new music."

Band Sluts hits the street tomorrow, and a music video for "Gimme Some Pants" is slated to premiere on VEVO in the coming weeks.
