Jenteal Remembers Her Agent and Friend, Dan Barros

LOS ANGELESAVN has received the following email from retired actress Jenteal, commenting on the recent passing of her agent and friend Dan Barros:

Dear Friends at AVN,

It has been a very long time since I have had any association with the adult industry, though the passing of my beloved agent, Dan Barros, has aided me in crossing several boundaries previously set. Thank you for the lovely article you wrote. My good friend Melissa Hill represents the three of us well.

My friend and agent, Dan coined me as a "no brainer" when he connected me with a renowned magazine photographer in Vegas at the age of 18, and subsequently advised me to refrain from shooting films. He particularly advised me to refrain from shooting scenes with men. When I chose not to heed his advice, he aligned me with solid and reputable companies such as Ona Zee, Jon Leslie, Metro, Andrew Blake, Ultimate Pictures, and finally with Vivid, under the boundary set by me that I only work with girls.

After nearly a year I yearned for more. Dan warned me how my life might change should I decide to work with men as well as women, despite knowing I would be a cash-cow for him. Dan orchestrated my meetings with Steve Hirsch at Vivid, who I had been working for, and a contract was struck under the premise that I would work with men and women.

Dan Barros was a wonderful friend, and a honest man. He counseled me for the entirety of my career, despite my no longer needing him for booking purposes after I signed with Vivid. I deeply regret losing contact with him after I did some mainstream work and then got married in 2000, and subsequently left the business. He was often on my mind, and he is deeply in my thoughts today.

Thank you AVN for this piece. Dan was surely a great person as an agent, and as a friend to myself and to my great friend, Melissa Hill. Thank you for honoring him.
