Industry Vets Launch Triad Releasing

CHATSWORTH, Calif. — Adult industry veterans Bill Treadway and Paul Marco have joined forces to launch Triad Releasing, an new distribution company focused on Blu-ray and new content delivery platforms.

Triad president and sales manager Treadway has two decades of experiencei n the entertainment industry and formerly worked for adult studio New Sensations. Co-founder Marco is the owner of Sinsation Pictures, whose portfolio of studios will now be distributed through Triad.

Operating out of a 20,000-square-foot facility in Chatsworth, Triad will rep Sinsation, Jewel De'Nyle's Platinum Jewel, Cine X Latino, and new Russian studio Redlines Entertainment. Triad is in talks with several other studios and expects to close additional deals within the next few days, Marco said.

Triad's first releases will arrive in February. The company's initial release slate includes straight porn titles from Sinsation and Platinum Jewel, Spanish-language transsexual and hetero titles from Cine X Latino, and specialty content from Redlines to include monthly foot fetish, Fem-Dom, and "pegging" titles. Plans call for Cine X Latino to release gay content starting in March.

Triad Releasing promises to be "more than a traditional distributor," placing strong emphasis on HD and new content delivery platforms.

"Triad Releasing will be the premier distributor of Blu-Ray discs in the adult industry through our pricing, service and sales incentives," Treadway said. "One of the adult industry's problems is that many companies say their product is in HD, but it's not true HD. We will work with our producers to ensure their titles are shot in true high definition. This is the format of the future and we want to make sure our clients are prepared to give the consumers what they want."

Treadway expects the Blu-Ray market to grow in the coming year as player prices drop and consumer demand increases. He also sees a bright future for Triad's studios in the emerging IPTV, online VOD, mobile, and broadcast markets.

"People have always turned to the movies when the economy is down," Treadway said. "They stop buying big ticket items and they stop buying non-necessities but they want and need to be entertained. We see this as a period for the adult industry to grow in areas like Blu-Ray and electronic delivery because the fans are still there — and they want to escape."

A B2B website featuring art, trailers and cast lists will launch next month at triadreleasing.com.
