More than 1,000 adult industry movers, shakers and tastemakers came out on Saturday, July 10, 2004 to help Larry Flynt celebrate the 30th Anniversary of Hustler Magazine at the Park Plaza Hotel in downtown Los Angeles. The gala event featured more than 80 X-Rated starlets cum hostesses, Hustler models and fresh Hollywood hotties—some of them partially or completely naked— writhed and pole danced on individual stages, cages and served as buffet adornments while guests ogled the eye candy and danced to live music in the sprawling party area.
The Park Plaza is an excellent addition to L.A.'s downtown renaissance that is taking the City of Angels back to its urban roots—a hustling and bustling metropolis. As the warm summer evening wound down, the party wound up with free flowing drinks and appetizers served by the attractive and attentive wait staff. Sexy women, a handful body painted like wild animals, roved among the guests, stopping to preen, pose and hob nob with the porn elite.
Jimmy Flynt, Jr., who had flown in from opening up a Hustler store in Kentucky, offered, "It's been a great three decades and I feel like we're only beginning our growth with this magazine and company," adding, as a lithe and hard bodied babe clung to him and Dennis Hof, proprietor of the Moonlight Bunny Ranch, "and this is an exciting time because the Hustler stores are taking off like never before and the American public is welcoming us with open arms. Now if we can just make a change this coming election, we'll have really made a difference."
An hour into the evening, the garden was opened to guests and a luscious buffet dinner was served to the industry's A-List. Among the many industry insiders on hand were the entire Hustler staff, including Jim Kohls, looking dapper and roguish in a black suit and white tie, while the Flynt clan beamed at their American success story.

Among the dozens of adult industry insiders were Steven Hirsch, Howard Levine and their Vivid Entertainment Group staff; Peter Reynolds; directors Antonio Passolini and Wit Maverick from VCA; Frank Kay, Adam Winters, Dan Mottola from Pleasure/IVD/EFX Media; David Sturman from Sin City; Charles Brickman and Larry Ross from CDI; John Stagliano and Trisha Devereaux joined by Chris Norman and Nici Sterling from Evil Angel; David Joseph from Red Light District; Joy King from Wicked Pictures; Michael Warner from Great Western Litho; Susan Colvin and Al Bloom from California Exotic Novelties; and Scott Tucker from Topco.
Larry Flynt's appearance was the highlight of the evening—he smiled and glowed as gaggles of girls flocked to him to get a touch of the magic that makes the man. Flynt was obviously enjoying the celebration brought on by three decades of success for his groundbreaking Hustler magazine and the company it spawned in Larry Flynt Productions. The entire Flynt family was effusive in their praise of Mr. Flynt and the crowds parted as he came through the party, impromptu whistles and cheering greeting him like a presidential candidate on the stump.
As the night wore on, the party continued to amp up. The masses ate, drank and partied, while the girls danced, strutted and added maximum voltage to the already sexually charged atmosphere. The sprawling venue was spiked by porn performers Tera Patrick, Stephanie Swift, Nina Hartley, Sharon Mitchell, Nautica, Katie Morgan, Kimberly Kane, Violet Blue, Mackenzie Mack, Kellie Tyler, Ashley Blue, Amber Lynn and a handful of other starlets. The starlets worked their way through the crush of partygoers reveling in a celebratory spirit that carried the party straight through till after midnight.
Peter Reynolds of VCA Pictures summed up the evening the best, saying, "This is a wonderful company with an eye on the future and with the triple threat of Hustler, VCA and Vivid, we will dominate now and forever into this century. The seed has been planted and watered so watch us grow."
