Hustler Europe Adopts PAG View

KREFELD, Germany — The European arm of the Hustler corporation has come forth as the second adult company to embrace the Perpetual Action Group's PAG View pay-per-view DVD technology.

British studio Harmony Films announced its adoption of PAG View earlier this week, and now Hustler Europe has reported plans to hold a special presentation to retailers regarding the technology at the erotika trade fair late this month in Cologne.

PAG View theoretically opens up a whole new revenue stream for the industry, as it allows sections of a standard DVD — containing bonus scenes or any other types of content — to be made accessible only via a randomly generated code purchased over a mobile phone or the internet. The code is only good for one viewing, thus allowing companies to charge per view for DVD content.

Titled "Is the DVD dead? We say no!" Hustler's presentation at erotika will invite interested retailers to take part in a PAG View "loyalty marketing program" enabling them to receive a percentage of the extra revenue generated by the PAG View system.

To also be introduced later in the U.S., the program will be offered to brick and mortar stores and other retailers who've carried Hustler product for years, and will be structured incrementally.

The Hustler PAG View presentation will be conducted by Hustler Europe managing director Helen Clyne and PAG View Distribution chief Matthew Hicks, and will take place at 1:15 p.m. on the first day of erotika 2008, Friday, April 25.
