The Free Speech Coalition announced that it is working with video-on-demand retailer HotMovies.com to produce a one-day fundraising event – FreedomStreams ’06 – to be held April 18, with all proceeds to be earmarked for the 2257 Legal Defense Fund.
The concept is simple: HotMovies is designating one day, April 18, during which time participating studios will donate their HotMovies.com profits to FSC. As an added incentive, HotMovies has offered to match the money raised dollar for dollar. It’s as simple as that, but it promises to raise thousands of dollars for a necessary cause.
Many studios – including Elegant Angel, Pleasure Productions, Platinum X, Matrix Content and Red Light District – have already offered to participate in FreedomStreams ’06. HotMovies and the Free Speech Coalition are actively seeking the participation of any other studios through direct appeals and by publicizing the event in the adult media.
