The show is scheduled to be held at a yet-to-be-announced, "famous place" on the world-renowned Champs Elysees Avenue in the French capital. Brigitte Lahaie, a prominent French actress whose career spanned from 1976-98, will host the ceremony. Lahaie for the past nine years has hosted a prominent radio show about sexuality on a mainstream French Radio (RMC) station.
"She is probably the best example in France of a successful career in both businesses, adult and mainstream," said veteran Hot Video reporter, Paul Jerome.
Hot Video has unveiled a new concept for the 2009 awards show. The pre-nominees will be announced in Hot Video's "Special 20th Anniversary" issue, which is being released on Sunday. Both magazine readers and hotvideo.fr visitors will be able to vote for the short list of nominees in every category, as well as the eventual winners.
Hot Video has also announced it will honor 20 adult industry professionals this year with special achievement awards for their profound contributions to the business. Jerome confirmed that a select jury will vote for the awards. That panel will include people from Hot Video, mainstream cinema editors in France and media professionals from mainstream TV and radio outlets. The 20 special achievement award-winners will be finalized in early September, he said.
The show will also include adult celebrity presenters, one guy and one girl for each award category. Tickets for the show will go on sale to the public in late July on the hotdor.fr website. This year's Hot d'Or Show is the first one since 2001.
