Porn star couple Audrey Hollander and Otto Bauer provided a sensational climax for Torino Sex 2005 — Turin’s second annual Delta of Venus Fair. The two Americans did in public what they usually do only on sets — they had live sex on the central stage in front of an enthusiastic crowd.

Their performance was said to have “awed the Italian audience,” according to an event spokesman, who called it a deliberate attempt on the part of the Fair’s director, Giuseppe Sbarra, “to push the limit of the [Italian] law which does not allow live sex in public.”

Hollander and Bauer also carted away some festival prizes, being named Best Actress and Best Director, All Sex, both for the movie Supercore.

Among the other winners were Paul Thomas for Best Director, Feature, for The Masseuse, represented by Vivid Europe, and Hustler Video’s Denis Marti. Europorn superstar Sylvia Saint was recognized for Lifetime Achievement.

Offstage, interest centered on an art installation called “Icon” by “pornologist” Michele Capozzi. Its centerpiece was a photograph by American artist R. C. Horsch of a woman’s backside that appears to form the shape of a cross. Capozzi asked female observers to offer their panties to the Icon to be made into a quilt to be sold for charity.

Also arousing interest and curiosity was the International Chinese Erotic Show, “Adult Care Expo — Venus Shanghai.”

Official attendance at the festival’s second event was over 20,000 in three days.
