CHATSWORTH, Calif.—A new episode of HDNet program Deadline! debuting Thursday finds host Katie Daryl interviewing some of adult's biggest and brightest stars both on the AVN Awards red carpet and inside the AVN Adult Entertainment Expo of last month in Las Vegas.
Porn luminaries Daryl chats up during the show include Jesse Jane, Joslyn James, Mary Carey, Ann Marie Rios, Bree Olson, Shyla Stylez, Sasha Heart, Jelena Jensen, Jewels Jade and Lisa Ann.
Though not a stranger to adult industry conventions, Daryl told AVN, "It was my first time at the AVN red carpet. What I really like about the red carpet is how much the stars love to talk. In Hollywood, we're so used to people giving you the hand and not even wanting to talk to you, or they give you one-word answers and it's like pulling teeth. It was a breath of fresh air to talk to these porn stars and all of them be really open and willing to talk about everything and anything in depth. We were having to push them away at a certain point."
Daryl said that while Deadline! has a racy edge, the topics broached with porn's finest in this episode veer away from the predictable sex-related variety, instead touching on things like what their plans are for upcoming Valentine's Day, or what they find grosser between two propositions.
"I would imagine to our viewers and people that I tell this story of how I went to these porno awards, people would be surprised to hear how down-to-earth and nice everyone really was," Daryl ventured. "It was really great, how friendly and lovely everyone was."
The episode first airs at 5:30pm PST Thursday, with repeat broadcasts at 8 p.m. both Thursday and Saturday.
