LOS ANGELES – An opening reception for the third volume in the erotic art book series “Grafuck” will be held on Saturday at Gallery Nucleus (30 West Main St., Alhambra, Calif.) The exhibition will continue through Dec. 30.
Sponsored by Beautiful/Decay magazine, the reception will run from 6 to 11 p.m. and is open to the public. Art from “Grafuck 3” will be on display and available for purchase, including illustrations, photography, fine art and graphic design from both emerging and established artists.
Included among the 60 artists are VividAlt artist/designer Alaska! and Suicide Girls Art Director Courtney Riot, Jason Levesque, Ros Shiers and many more. Several artists will be in attendance and autographing copies of the book, and all three “Grafuck” books will be also on sale at the exhibit.
“Alaska!’s work has always set the tone for design on the leading edge of alternative erotica,” said Eon Mckai, head of Vivid-Alt, the alternative branch of Vivid Entertainment Group.
Alaska! has designed the packaging for all of Vivid-Alt's current releases, including Triple Ecstacy, Neu Wave Hookers, Dana DeArmond Does the Internet and Girls Lie. He was also recently featured in Lou Savior’s coffee table book, “Sex in Design,” for Tectum Publishing.
