Goodbye Dubya, Hello Doubleya D’s: Carey for President?

If LA Times staffers are correct, irrepressible porn queen and ex-gubernatorial candidate Mary Carey is not forgotten in the political arena. In fact, according to long time columnist Al Martinez — who wrote she’s “looking better all the time”— his co-workers numbered her as a possible presidential candidate.

Martinez revealed this in a recent column entitled “We Need a Woman Prez to Clean Up the Mess,” mentioning that, in his informal office poll, other possibilities for the first female president were Hillary Clinton, Oprah Winfrey, former Texas Congresswoman Barbara Jordan (who died nine years ago), and Jordan's Queen Noor, King Hussein's widow, who has emerged as an author and women's rights activist. California Sens. Barbara Boxer and Dianne Feinstein also made the cut, as did ex-Commie supporter and overwrought actress Jane Fonda.

Others who placed included Maine Republican senators Olympia J. Snowe and Susan M. Collins; Oakland Congresswoman Barbara Lee; former Department of Housing and Urban Development Secretary Carla Hills; comedian Judy Tenuta; former Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Christie Todd Whitman; actress Emma Thompson; and KCOP Channel 13 anchor Lauren Sanchez. Not bad company.

Listen for Carey’s appearance on Alan Colmes' radio show tonight; she’ll also co-host the "Opie & Anthony" radio show tomorrow morning (both in New York).
